In a an order posted on the docket this morning, Judge Cote has enjoined Apple from enforcing any existing “most favored nation” contract provisions relating to e-books, or entering into new ones.  Apple is required to appoint an “External Compliance Monitor” to review and evaluate Apple’s antitrust compliance. The Order takes effect in 30 days, presumably to give Apple a chance to seek an immediate stay in the Second Circuit, and expires by its terms in five years. Our prior posts on the case are here.
