Judge Nathan amended her rules today to (among other changes) require that any sealing or redaction request specifically address the standards in the Second Circuit’s decision in Lugosch v. Pyramid Co. of Onondaga, 435 F.3d 110 (2d Cir. 2006) (see redline). Judge Koeltl amended his individual practices yesterday for the first time since April 2008 (see redline). He previously required pre-motion conferences for summary judgment motions; now conferences are required for motions to dismiss and to amend, as well. Judge Abrams published her first individual rules last week, which follow the fairly standard form in the Southern District. Judge Engelmayer amended his rules on August 3 to (among other changes) accept letters by email (see redline).
